The mother, was convicted of incest, sodomy and sexual abuse.
Olu Stevens, the Jefferson Circuit County Judge, has also ordered her to register as a life-time sex offender.
The woman, who The Sun is not naming to protect the identity of her victim, was initially arrested in October 2015.
Following an investigation by the Metro Police Department’s Crimes Against Children’s Unit, she was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of sodomy and one count of incest.
In an interview with police officers she admitted to performing oral sex on the boy.
She also admitted to engaging in other sexual activities with her son between 2012 and 2015.
During the period of abuse, her son was aged four and seven.
Attorney General Andy Beshear said: “It’s unimaginable the suffering this victim endured and will endure.
“This court action held accountable the victim’s abuser and brought some justice for the crimes against the victim.”
