26 Year Old Killed By Unlicensed Driver: Verulam – KwaZulu Natal
A Brindhaven – Verulam resident who was fighting for her life in hospital after being involved in a collision this week has passed away a short while ago.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a collision involving three vehicles. Upon arrival an Isuzu bakkie which was driven by an unlicensed driver was found to have collided into a VW Polo before crashing head on into a VW Golf.
26 Year Old Camy Govender was found critically injured and entrapped in her vehicle. The jaws of life was used to remove the roof of her vehicle to allow paramedics to free her from the wreckage. Camy suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to Umhlanga Hospital in a critical condition. Her condition deteriorated and she passed away in hospital.
It is alleged that Camy’s vehicle as well as the VW Polo were travelling towards the R102 when the driver of the Isuzu bakkie which was travelling in the opposite direction collided into both vehicles.
